Understanding and Managing Challenging Behaviours

Up to 16% of children will struggle with challenging behavioural issues such as being defiant, frequently losing their temper, arguing, blaming others for their mistakes or refusing to follow the rules.

When managing behavioural issues in children, it is essential to start by understanding what is causing the behaviour.

There could be many issues, such as:

  • emotion regulation difficulties
  • learning problems
  • feelings of anxiety
  • problems with attention
  • hyperactivity or impulsivity
  • mood issues
  • trauma

Understanding the cause of the issue is crucial so you can develop effective solutions to help your child better manage challenging behavioural issues.
