Our Clinic
Making a Difference Today
The early days of our clinic goes as far back as March 2003, when co-founder, Trevor Sullivan, began a small private practice in his home called Sullivan Counselling Services, working evenings and Saturdays. His wife, business partner and co-founder, Dr. Jennifer Sullivan, began her private practice in 2005 in a separate office in their family home.
Our passion to help others inspired us to open a small private practice in our home in 2007. With only a modest ad in the yellow pages and positive word-of-mouth advertising, our tiny practice rapidly grew, requiring us to relocate to a larger office building within a year.
Through a combination of many factors, including a strong commitment to our values of honesty, integrity, and respect, our passion for excellence, and our warm, down-to-earth style, our practice continued to grow, and we responded by adding more professionals, more support staff, and more and more offices!
Eighteen years later, we have achieved our dream of helping people in our community (and throughout the province) to overcome their difficulties and live happier lives, through the development of a modern, professional, full-service psychology clinic!

Important Things To Know About Sullivan + Associates
During the past 18 years, we have continued to evolve all aspects of our clinic. If you are interested in an overview of our history and how it has influenced our clinical and support teams, as well as the overall development of our clinic.
Our Clinical Team
To date, we have 50 Master and Doctoral level Clinicians who comprise our Clinical Team. Some Clinicians are focused solely on assessments, while others are focused solely on psychotherapy/counselling. There are also several Clinicians who offer both assessment and psychotherapy/counselling services.
It has been a longstanding goal to develop a large clinical team that would allow Clinicians to focus their efforts on assessing and treating specific clinical populations (e.g., children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families), as well as focus on assessing and treating specific issues (e.g., ADHD, anxiety, autism, depression, etc.). The ability to focus on a specific area of clinical practice allows our Clinicians to gain experience would rapidly in their chosen area of focus.
Our Support Team
Our support team is the most underrated aspect of our clinic, as they are the engine that drives the practice on a daily basis. The team has evolved from a single administrative person (with Trevor as admin. for evening appointments!), to a team with 15 members, including several different departments. The goal of our support team is essentially to make life easier for both our clinical team and our clients. And with a larger support team, we are able to do more for our clients.
Mission, Vision, Values
Our goal when expanding our clinic was to better serve our community, but also to replicate the service the founders were offering in a professional and personable style. There was also the realization that we needed to establish a clear mission to help determine how we were going to move forward as a clinic and who we should add as team members; a vision of where to direct our goals for mental health service, and a specific set of values that we would embody to help guide our clinic and team members in all that we do.
Our Environment
At Sullivan + Associates, we started our practice in our home and the goal was always to create a warm, inviting home-like atmosphere, similar to walking into someone’s living room. The reason for this is that we felt people would be much more comfortable engaging in mental health treatment in this environment, as opposed to the more institutional style buildings of the time. So, when we moved our practice from our home to a commercial office space that we would grow into a clinic, it was important to capture the same home-like “environment” we had with our home offices, as we feel that people can get the most out of their appointments when they feel relaxed and comfortable.
Careers
Our goal as a clinic is to continue to grow and evolve to serve the people of Ontario. As the importance of mental health is becoming better understood and less stigmatized, the need for effective, efficient mental health services continues to grow.
We are always looking to add Clinical and Support Team members to help serve our clients and we enjoy meeting with people who share the same values and vision we have for mental health service.
