Teens and Anxiety: Helping Your Child Cope

Up to 48% of adolescents will struggle with a mental health issue, with anxiety being the most common mental health issue that teens will face.

Anxiety can come in many different forms. It can pertain to social situations (such as shyness or fear of being judged negatively by others), health (worrying about one’s health or the health of a loved one), obsessive fears of something bad happening, or worrying about many different things in one’s life.

When left untreated, feelings of anxiety can lead to feelings of distress and can begin to interfere with important aspects of functioning.
